COVID-19 Update from Points West

After careful consideration of the quickly changing circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus, our lobbies will remain open but by appointment only. This move allows us to better ensure the practices of social distancing and meet the needs of our customers. This is effective immediately across all locations and lasting through April 10th.

Our operations will continue as normal, but all transactions will be handled via drive-thru, night drop, ATM, or mobile & online banking services.

COVID-19 Safety & Operations

At Points West Community Bank, we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak for the safety and health of our customers, employees, and communities.

Our goal is to continue providing the highest banking products and services during this uncertain time. Points West Community Bank has been providing these financial services to our customers since 1906. We have worked together with our customers through the Great Depression, Great Recession, and many other economic conditions. Our history and our flexibility are the components we utilize to better help our employees and customers during this pandemic situation.

After careful consideration of the quickly changing circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus, our lobbies will remain open but by appointment only. This move allows us to better ensure the practices of social distancing and meet the needs of our customers. This is effective immediately across all locations and lasting through April 10th.

We have increased our frequency of sanitizing all common surfaces with high-grade disinfectants as recommended by the CDC at all locations. This includes but is not limited to doorknobs, handles, pens, teller stations, drive-thru tubes, calculators and any other high-traffic surface areas. We also have hand sanitizer readily available at each desk and teller station.

To help you keep your time away from home at a minimum, we want to share the services we offer that are free to all customers to take advantage of from anywhere.

Mobile & Online Banking

If you haven’t already, download our app from the App Store or Google Play. From the app, you can access all of your accounts, transfer funds, schedule transfers, report lost or missing cards, and even pay your monthly bills for services such as utilities or car payments. Alternatively, you can access your account online. These services are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mobile Deposits

Additionally, many of our customers have taken advantage of mobile check deposits. For those who haven’t signed up yet, we’ve made the service available by default for every account. From the app, head to the deposit tab, enter the amount and take a picture of your check – the app will give you directions every step of the way.

Contactless Payments

Cash carries germs. Our bankers have begun wearing gloves when handling currency, but we realize that’s not practical for you every time you pull out your wallet. We recommend keeping your cash on hand to a minimum. Instead, opt for services such as Apple Pay or Google Pay to make transactions using your phone or smartwatch.

All you have to do is add your Points West card to whichever service you use, and you should be good to go! Next time you’re checking out, look for these symbols:

Anywhere these icons appear, simply unlock your phone and hold it near the card reader for the transaction to go through.

COVID-19 Scams

Uncertainty can bring out the worst in people. Scammers will try to take advantage of fears spurred by Coronavirus. If you see an email, text, or any other form of communication from Points West asking you for personal details, be skeptical. If you’re unsure it’s us, please call your local branch and ask – we’ll be able to clear things up for you.

Essential Business

Last but certainly not least, we want to assure you that, as a bank, we are an essential business during Stay-At-Home orders. We will continue our strategy of handling all transactions via drive-thru, night deposit, ATM, and mobile or online banking. If you need to meet with a banker in person – and you’re confident that you’re healthy – please contact your local banker to set up an in-person meeting.
