Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When should I expect updates?
A: The operational merge will take place on Saturday, February 15th, 2020. Online banking, telebanking, and mobile banking may be temporarily unavailable throughout that weekend.
Q: Will this affect my banking statements?
A: Your existing accounts will have a statement produced as of February 14th, 2020. This statement will not be a full monthly cycle; however, a new statement will begin immediately and will resume with your normal statement cycle.
Q: Will this update interfere with my deposits?
A: On February 15th, 2020 all items deposited via mobile deposit will require the restrictive endorsement of “MOBILE DEPOSIT ONLY” and the DATE OF DEPOSIT.
Q: What about FDIC insurance coverage?
A: When two banks become one, special FDIC insurance rules protect customers with deposits over the $250,000 limit for at least six months after a merger. With CDs, the separate deposit insurance coverage continues until the CD matures.
Q: I currently have checking accounts in both Points West Nebraska & Wyoming and Points West Colorado. Will I now have only one account?
A: No. All accounts will maintain their current numbers and separate account status.
Q: Do I need to order new checks?
A: No. Your current checks will be good until you need to reorder. At that time the Bank’s routing number will change automatically to Points West Colorado. The new routing number is 102101360 and will be effective on February 15th, 2020. Your current Points West Nebraska routing number will continue to work also. Please set up any NEW direct deposit or debit with the new routing number on or after February 15th, 2020.
Q: I frequently have money wired into my account. Will those instructions change?
A: Yes. Call your local branch for new wiring instructions on or before February 15th, 2020.
Q: Will my current debit card work after the unification?
A: Yes. Your cards will continue to work without interruption.
Q: Can I continue to use the same ATM terminals as before?
A: Yes, you may continue using any terminals you have used in the past. However, by using any Points West ATM machine you will avoid all fees. An ATM Finder on our website will help you locate Points West machines and surcharge-free ATM machines.
Q: Can I make a deposit or get cash at any Points West Community Bank branches?
A: Yes. You will be able to make deposits, cash checks, make loan payments, or transact any business at any of the 20 Points West branches. The below locations will be eager to serve you as of Tuesday, February 18th, 2020:
