Gathering in front of the Weld Food Bank’s mobile food pantry the Windsor Community Foundation presented the food bank with a check for $1,500 Wednesday.

“(The donation to Weld Food Bank) is a great way to give back to the community,” Mark Brase, Windsor Community Foundation chairman and Front Range President at Points West Community Bank, said.

Even as the check presentation took place, the mobile pantry and the volunteers working it stayed busy, giving out food to the line of people filling the parking lot of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.

When the Weld Food Bank began its distribution in Windsor, it quickly became clear the community had a need for a service like theirs, Stephanie Gausch, Weld Food Bank director of development, said.

The $1,500 donation covered that day’s distribution in Windsor, she said. Windsor Community Foundation’s donation helped the food bank help the community.

Windsor Community Foundation made the donation to Weld Food Bank as a part of their grant process, which the food bank applied for.
