A Year of Community Connections: A Story of Impact Across Our Branches
Loveland: Celebrating Creativity and Nourishing the Future
In the heart of Northern Colorado, Loveland is a community renowned for its appreciation of art. In 2024, Points West Loveland proudly partnered with Investment Center Advisor Group as Featured Sponsors of the Art in the Park festival, an event that drew over 10,000 visitors. The festival transformed the park into a vibrant tapestry of colors and creativity, with local artists displaying their work and families enjoying interactive activities.
The partnership signaled Points West’s deep-rooted belief in the power of art to bring people together. But their impact extended far beyond the festival grounds. The Loveland branch made a significant mark through its contributions to the KidsPak program, which supports local students facing food insecurity and was recognized by the Loveland Chamber as the 2024 Non-Profit of the Year.
Eight employees and their family members dedicated their time to fill over 800 food bags for children in the Thompson Valley School District, ensuring they had meals to sustain them through challenging times.
Art and generosity, combined with strong leadership, made 2024 a banner year for the Loveland branch, leaving an indelible mark on the community they serve.
Greeley: Supporting Small Business, Building Dreams
Greeley, with its vibrant downtown and thriving agricultural market, is a hub of entrepreneurial spirit, and Points West played a pivotal role in fueling that energy in 2024. From bakeries to automotive garages, vet clinics to distilleries, the branch worked hand in hand with local small businesses, offering financial solutions that empowered owners to thrive in a competitive marketplace.
But the branch’s contributions didn’t stop at business. They were actively involved in the construction of over 150 homes, bringing dreams to life for families across Northern Colorado. From financing baseball training facilities that became a hub for aspiring athletes to funding doctors’ offices that offered essential healthcare, Points West’s impact rippled across industries.
The branch also focused on Greeley’s growing rental market, helping finance properties to meet increasing demand. And for individuals chasing personal milestones, Points West was there—funding dream homes, family-run bakeries, trucking companies, and even storage facilities.
The team celebrated not only loan growth but also significant deposit growth, with new accounts opening for local retailers, restaurants, and business professionals in and out of Greeley. As the community evolved, Points West stood ready to adapt, ensuring their services met the needs of both consumers and businesses.
Douglas: Building Traditions, Supporting Agriculture
The Douglas branch turned 2024 into a year of building traditions and fostering connections. For the second consecutive year, the branch purchased a pig at the Douglas 4-H sale, donating it to the Local Boys and Girls Club. This gesture not only supported youth agriculture but also brought smiles to the faces of the club’s young members.
The Douglas branch also became a driving force for collaboration among local businesses. Branch Manager Kacy Jo spearheaded the Eastside Business Alliance, a group dedicated to fostering connections and driving foot traffic to Douglas’s eastside. Through events like the Business Roundup and a lively Hawaiian Luau, the alliance brought businesses and customers together in an atmosphere of celebration.
These events were just the beginning. The branch’s Customer Appreciation BBQ, held during state fair week, became a cherished annual tradition. Families gathered to enjoy good food and great company, celebrating the partnerships that define the Douglas community.
In March, the branch added a new tradition to its calendar: an event for National Agriculture Day, recognizing the vital role farmers and ranchers play in sustaining the local economy. The Douglas branch’s unwavering commitment to agriculture and community spirit continues to strengthen their ties to the people they serve.
Kimball: Enriching Schools and Supporting Local Events
In Kimball, Points West played an integral role in 2024 by supporting both education and local traditions. The branch participated in and donated to the Red White Golf Classic, an event that raises funds for extracurricular activities at Kimball Public Schools. Their contributions provided students with opportunities to pursue passions in athletics, arts, and academics.
At the Kimball-Banner County Fair, the branch supported youth in agriculture by purchasing animals and contributing to events like the rodeo, rubber check race, and ranch rodeo. For Kimball residents, these moments are more than just competitions—they are a celebration of the town’s agricultural roots and community pride.
The team also lent its support to the Vinces Corner Golf Tournament, further cementing their commitment to fostering camaraderie and recreation in the town.
As the holiday season approaches, Points West demonstrated its commitment to supporting families in need. For Thanksgiving, the branch joined forces with other businesses in Kimball to purchase 40 meals for local families. Each meal box included turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and all the trimmings needed for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. By coming together as a community, they ensured that struggling families could gather around their tables and share in the warmth of the holiday.
Haxtun: A Commitment to Agriculture
In Haxtun, Points West’s focus was on celebrating and supporting youth in agriculture. The branch’s purchase of a 4-H animal at the Phillips County Fair reinforced its dedication to fostering leadership and responsibility among young participants. For many families, 4-H is a cornerstone of life, and the branch’s involvement underscored their understanding of its significance in shaping the future of rural communities.
Dalton: Educating and Caring for the Community
Dalton’s contributions to its community were as heartfelt as they were impactful. At the Cheyenne County Fair, the branch participated in bidding on 4-H animals, helping drive up prices and ensure young participants were rewarded for their hard work.
As the holiday season approached, the Dalton branch stepped up to cover the expense for all the hams included in the Holiday Food Boxes distributed by the Dalton Food Bank. This act of generosity ensured that families could enjoy a festive meal, regardless of their circumstances.
Dalton also invested in the future by providing financial literacy materials through Banzai, equipping students with the tools they need to make informed decisions about money. Marin Olson and Bobbi Ernst even visited Leyton High School, sharing insights and advice with a class of students eager to learn.
Torrington: Supporting Youth, Families, and the Community
For the Torrington branch, 2024 was a year defined by action and impact. At the 4-H Fat Stock Sale, the branch purchased animals, supporting young participants while contributing to the vitality of local agriculture.
The team also embraced the spirit of giving during the holiday season. Through the Sharing Christmas Gift Program, they partnered with Diversified Services to provide underprivileged children and families with much-needed holiday cheer. Similarly, their contributions to Santa’s Helpers ensured that Christmas magic reached every corner of Torrington.
The branch extended its support to local organizations like the Volunteer Fire Department, reflecting its appreciation for the men and women who keep the community safe. Their connection to the department runs deep, with one team member being a past fire chief and another having a spouse currently serving in the role.
Sports enthusiasts in Torrington also benefited from the branch’s involvement. Points West sponsored Little League, Goshen County Grizzly baseball, and Legion baseball, as well as the Trailblazer football team. They grilled hamburgers at a home game, adding warmth and flavor to the community’s football season.
As Halloween approached, the branch contributed to the town’s Trunk or Treat event, providing thousands of treats to delight local children. This spirit of generosity and community involvement defined Torrington’s 2024—a year of partnership and positivity.
A Shared Commitment Across Branches
Each branch of Points West brought its unique flavor to community involvement in 2024, but they all shared a common mission: to support, uplift, and empower the people they serve. From funding dreams and fostering education to supporting agriculture and creating moments of joy, their collective efforts painted a picture of what it means to be deeply embedded in the fabric of their communities.
For Points West, banking is more than numbers and transactions—it’s about building relationships, fostering growth, and leaving a legacy of care. As they look to 2025, the team remains committed to carrying this mission forward, continuing to make a difference one community at a time.
