Windsor, Colo. — April 9, 2026 — Points West Community Bank (PWCB) is pleased to announce it has entered into agreements to acquire Berkley Bank of Englewood, Colorado, and State Bank of Downs of Downs, Kansas, pending regulatory approval.

The acquisition brings together two fourth-generation, family-owned and operated community banks that share a deep commitment to personal service, local decision-making, and the long-term strength of the communities they serve.

“For us, this was never about size — it was about values,” said Tom Olson, Chairman of PWCB. “Berkley Bank and State Bank of Downs share our belief that banking works best when you truly know your customers, understand your communities, and are willing to be present for them year after year. That alignment made Points West the right fit.”

Founded on relationships, both institutions believe there is no substitute for personal service. Customers of Berkley Bank and State Bank of Downs will continue to work with familiar bankers they know and trust, while gaining access to the expanded technology, products, and convenience of a growing community bank.

“Customers shouldn’t have to choose between a personal banking experience and modern convenience,” said CEO Mark Brase. “At Points West, we combine the advantages of a Community Bank — local decisions, real relationships, accountability — with the technology and tools today’s customers expect.”

Points West Community Bank is headquartered in Windsor, Colorado, and serves customers across Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. With the addition of Berkley Bank and State Bank of Downs, Points West will expand its footprint while maintaining its commitment to local leadership, community involvement, and long-term stewardship.
